Tech Notes from ITS
TLEARN
Information Technology Services (ITS) operates a walk-in computing service center for all currently enrolled Trinity University students. Located in Winn Residence Hall, the Student Computer Service Center is staffed with student workers employed by ITS to assist users with computer related issues. The Residential Computer Consultants (RCCs) provide assistance to students with issues such as virus and spy-ware removal, software installation, and wired/wireless network connectivity resolution.
Location: Winn Residence Hall, Room 103
Hours: Monday - Friday: 2:00 PM through 7:00 PM
Available Services
Our Residential Computer Consultant services include assisting students configuring their network setup and ensuring the functionality of the network infrastructure free of charge. However, any service provided to a student that is related to the eradication of adware, spy-ware, viruses or operating system reinstallation is subject to a nominal fee associated with that service.

Reinstalling Operating Systems |
The reinstallation of a computer's operating system, the latest security patches for that operating system, Trinity's anti-virus software and all appropriate hardware drivers are included as one service. |

Software installation refers to Sophos anti-virus, Microsoft, MAC or personal software etc. that is legitimately licensed to the student or licensed through Trinity University for student use. |

Peer-to-Peer Software Removal |
Peer-to-peer software removal refers to any identified peer-to-peer file sharing program directly implicated in a copyright take-down notice. |

Virus, Software and Adware Removal |
The removal of malicious code usually referred to as adware, spy-ware, and viruses, which affect a computer's performance, functionality and poses a security risk on Trinity's network. |

Network Connectivity/Troubleshooting |
Troubleshooting and resolution of wired or wireless network connectivity issues that limit a student's Internet access due in part to configuration settings, software drivers or malware such as viruses. |
