Password Guidelines

Your password is the first line of protection for your account. It not only protects your e-mail and other files from being used by others, it also prevents others from sending e-mail in your name. Do not give your password to anyone or write it down in a place where others can find it. (Be sure to read our Rules and Policies.)

Follow this link for a complete guide on selecting passwords.

What Passwords to Change

Most Trinity students and employees have at least TWO passwords, one for logging on to the University's network including E-Mail, Tiger's Lair, and TigerPaws another for Blackboard. The Tiger's Lair password allows students to logon to the campus portal and access e-mail and TigerPaws online. TigerPaws enables students to check their grades and register for classes. Employees can use TigerPaws to check leave balances and view position descriptions. Faculty can use TigerPaws for grading and class listings.

Some departments (such as Engineering and Computer Science) have Unix-based computers for use by their own students.

NOTE: Netscape Mail, Eudora, Pegasus, and other POP mail readers pull mail off of a host computer on your behalf. If you change your password on the mail host, you must also change the POP mail settings on your computer.

Instructions also appear below for Datatel users who connect through FrontView.
