Information Technology Services, in partnership with Google is excited to announce T-mail, a new improved student e-mail system. T-mail will become the exclusive e-mail service for Trinity University students.

General Information
Who can use T-mail?
T-mail is for 2009 Trinity graduates and currently enrolled students.
How does T-mail work?
T-mail is similar to Google's Gmail product but has been customized for Trinity University. Basic features include:

Will my Trinity e-mail address stay the same?
Yes. Your T-mail account e-mail address is the same as your regular Trinity e-mail address.

Getting Started
How do I access my new T-mail account?
Type tmail.trinity.edu into any web browser. Sign in using your network user name and the temporary password that you've been instructed to use. Your temporary password information and instructions were sent to you via e-mail.
*Please note: The first time you log into your T-mail account, you will be required to change your password. This new password will be for T-mail ONLY and will not expire.
Will my Outlook items automatically transfer over to T-mail?
E-mail messages: Once your T-mail account is set up messages will be delivered to both your Microsoft Outlook and T-mail boxes temporarily. To move previous e-mail messages from Microsoft Outlook to T-mail, follow these step by step instructions.
Contacts: For instruction on importing your contacts visit Creating Contacts.
Folders: For instruction on creating folders or labels visit Using Labels.
Deleted Items, Sent Items, Drafts: You will need to manually transfer these items over by November 4, 2009.
Will I be able to sync my mobile device with T-mail?

Help using T-mail
Can I access the Trinity University global address list?
T- mail will function differently. Once you compose a mail message, you can begin typing a name in the To field. Names that fit the criteria will populate. It may take up to 24 hours for names to populate on new T-mail accounts.
What if I'm having difficulty connecting to T-mail?

I have another personal e-mail account. Can I combine the two mailboxes?
Yes. Under the Settings tab in T-mail, you can add any e-mail account you own. After confirming it, you can now change the "from" e-mail message you send. Combine this and e-mail forwarding from any other account you own and you now have a single place to check all your e-mail.
Will I be able to keep my T-mail address after I graduate?
Yes, you can keep your T-mail address after you graduate.
Will Google show their ads in my e-mail content page?
No. However, you will see web clips. Web clips show headlines, blog posts, RSS feeds and sponsored links across the top of your page. To disable web clips, select Settings > Web Clips. Deselect the box that says Show my web clips above the inbox.

Privacy and Security
How can I choose a secure password?
Choose a secure password by using a mix of numbers, letters and non dictionary words. Never give your password to anyone. Never write down your password or store it in a program. Avoid using significant date and names.
Is my T-mail account secure and private?
Information Technology Services has taken steps to ensure that your student data is protected above and beyond a public available account.
Google has signed a contract committing them to uphold a strict privacy policy an to always treat your personal information with the utmost care and security. You can read more about Google Privacy & Security.
Keep in mind that Google has agreed that Trinity University's student data is subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) when in Google's possession.
