Trinity University seeks applications for the position of Financial Aid Counselor. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Financial Aid and assist with the office’s operation. The Financial Aid Counselor will help the director in research, awarding, and reporting of all student aid programs. Specifically, the counselor will process application documents, calculate awards, and enforce the university’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy. In addition, the counselor will develop procedures to monitor selected aid programs. The counselor will oversee financial aid for Study Abroad and serve as liaison with the International Programs Office and Business Office, as well as the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) in reporting and awarding state financial aid funds. The counselor will advise students and families on the financial aid process and procedures, and will work closely with the Office of Admissions and Business Office to meet enrollment goals. The counselor will help develop financial aid pieces and maintain the website. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or three years experience in the area of financial aid. While experience is not necessary, preference will be given to candidates who have a basic understanding of financial aid regulations or Datatel. The candidate must have strong analytical, technical, and communication skills. Salary and benefits are competitive.
