Department: Campus & Community Involvement
Trinity University seeks applications for the position of Coordinator of Student Organizations and Leadership. Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus & Community Involvement, the Coordinator of Student Organizations and Leadership plays a primary role in the development and implementation of student organization services, activities and programs, as well as, instituting a comprehensive leadership program with a foundation in the Social Change Model of Leadership. The coordinator is a member of the CCI team which includes the following programs and services: new student orientation, parent programs, diversity programs, service programs, Greek life, student-edited publications, and the Coates University Center. The coordinator develops the Student Organization Handbook, serves as a co-facilitator of a first year leadership program called theProject, and provides on-going coaching to students regarding organization formation, event planning, and risk management. The coordinator for student organizations and leadership will advance the University's commitment to offering all students a rich and stimulating undergraduate experience outside the classroom as well as inside.
Required qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; must have at least 1-2 years of full-time or graduate assistant experience in student programming or closely related area.
Desired characteristics: Master's degree in student affairs, counseling or related field; Student Affairs experience in advising, training, leadership education, program development; an understanding of student development theory; strong interpersonal and intercultural competency; ability to write and articulate student learning outcomes related to departmental goals; experience with leadership development programs and curriculum; experience in designing and conducting assessment activities; ability to articulate issues and trends facing college students; excellent written and oral communication skills; highly developed sense of humor; team player.
The coordinator will fulfill a number of campus wide responsibilities and should be available for evening and weekend involvement with student groups.
